After a quiet, mainly indoor start to the year, families located near the Woodlinks Estate will have a place to expel their energy with the new family-friendly park. Nestled within the trees is a 7-metre high Kompan Giants Base Tower, not only the first of its kind in Queensland, but sure to offer a stomach-tickling experience as children race down the 8-metre long slide.
The new play tower is bursting with activities from top to bottom, inside and out, that are designed to excite, challenge and push children’s boundaries in a safe environment. Other play equipment such as a Birds Nest Swing and galaxy Supernova encourage parents or carers and children to engage in play together. For the thrill seekers, a 3-metre long Flying Fox offers the need-for-speed and a Birds Nest Swing and spinning Supernova encourage parents, carers and children to engage in active play together.
As children climb, swing and play, parents are able to get moving and get fit on the digitally-integrative fitness equipment. Designed to get the whole body moving, the fitness unit incorporates weighted magnetic kettle bells, suspension trainer at varied heights and a climbing net offering calisthenics activities. The top-of-the-range equipment is accompanied by a free-to-download fitness application which shows users how to use the fitness equipment, offering video demonstrations and alternative exercises to get the body moving.
The latest addition of the Hilltop Park includes two separate play settings each with a distinctive character. At the top of the hill a large tower for adventurous climbers affords views across the Goodna Creek corridor below. At the street level below an active playscape including a cableway and fitness equipment provides spaces for community interaction and play.
