Originally filled with KOMPAN Play equipment that has been standing strong for over 15 years, Moreton Bay Regional Council decided it was time to revitalise Lemke Park. Filled with new equipment in a range of blue hues, the revamped playspace is bursting with a range of play activities for children of various ages.
An inclusive Tipi Carousel and Spinner Bowl makes the world round and round helping to train children’s sense of balance, proprioception and turn-taking when sharing with friends. A double storey Kompan Play Tower is home to a range of physical, social and cognitive play challenges on every level. With multiple entries, the play unit encourages children of various ages and abilities to make their way into the fun-filled tower. Children can take a zoom on the Track Ride which offers a thrilling exit from the tower.
For little adventurers, a Moments Play Tower encourages fine and gross skill development with crawling, swinging, sliding and climbing activities. The Tower is fitted with a Face Panel which is great for parent-child interactive play and helps children to learn to differentiate and talk about different emotions. A Port Window encourages and facilitates social interactions between children and also encourages dramatic play.
The revitalised inclusive playspace now provides play opportunities for a range of ages and abilities encouraging the whole family to play at the park. Urban Play worked with Brisbane City Council on the new playground for the Albany Creek community.
