King Arthur Tce, Tennyson
Named in honour of Australian tennis great, Ken Fletcher Park in Tennyson, boasts an exciting new play destination featuring custom built play equipment unlike any other in the world. Inspired by the former Tennyson Power Station, a custom 23m long Corocord climbing structure was specifically designed for the project, providing users with unique multi-level play opportunities. A variety of climbing nets and a giant rubber ramp provide play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities, while the use of elevation and height encourage children to test their boundaries in a safe yet challenging environment. An additional toddler area was also developed to provide imaginative and sensory activities through the use of sand and water play, while numerous art and sound installations provide passive and social play experiences, essential for developing young minds.
'One of the best climbing apparatuses we've seen anywhere – a labyrinth of netting, ropes and webs suited for all ages, encased with power house themed placards and centered around steel chimneys modeled on those that were once the landmark of the old Tennyson Powerhouse that could be seen for miles around Brisbane.'
