Harmony, Sunshine Coast

The length of 10 ten football fields and spanning across five hectares is Queensland’s first Grand Linear Park. The new park located at Harmony on the Sunshine Coast is five times the size of a normal park and will ignite residents and the local community to embrace an active, outdoor lifestyle.

 With the size and calibre of the park, Urban Play needed to design a play space that would be as equally incredible. It was with this in mind, that the custom-designed Loop Swing and 360 degree Loop were chosen for the park. In monochrome tones and with the theme of undulating waves, this architecturally inspired equipment is the first of its kind for Queensland…. and has been a massive hit with the kids!

The astonishing 30.2 metre, 360 degree loop is the centrepiece of the playground and caters to children of various ages and abilities. With stepping pods, climbing ropes and ‘spider webs’ from the ground to the top of the loop, it is a play piece that challenges children of all ages.

The custom-designed Loop Swing with its wave-like form is the first swing of its kind in Australia for KOMPAN. The 8 seated swing features classic swing seats and Birds Nest Swing seats where children can swing together, or alone on the magnificent Loop Swing.

Paying homage to Avid Property’s desire to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle, cutting-edge KOMPAN fitness equipment was installed. The monochrome linear fitness stations complement the Loop Swing and 360 degree Loop. Magnetic Bells, Suspension Trainer, Pull Up Bars and Parallel bars motivates all fitness levels to get moving accompanied by a digital app which guides users on how to use the equipment.

A POPP Ping Pong Table vibrant green gets children and parents engaged in active play as they battle it out for Ping Pong champion. Urban Play worked alongside Avid Property Group, Eureka Landscapes and KOMPAN to deliver this architecturally inspired playspace.
